January 6 - Redfish!
Saturday
We fished Fourchon public beach today and I got our new friend Eric Rieman, visiting from Chicago, Illinois hooked up with a couple of Bull Reds, but we lost one of them. We had bad conditions for these big fish with below normal tides, and water temperature in the high 40's. Bait was scarce because of the low tide, and the colder than normal water after a week of record low temperatures.. As predicted, the big fish showed up for evening dinner with the incoming deeper and warmer water at the evening high tide. The rest of the day we were plinking and blasting target flotsam, and gallon jugs with a 410 ga. and a 12 guage shotgun.

Eric's first big fish other than a bass! We released him.

Eric takes a bead on a gallon jug filled with seawater he is about to explode with our 12 guage cannon.

Bobby Jr. gets his jug airborne with his 410 ga. shotgun!
