Bull Shark, Manta Ray, Louisiana Fishing
Just before sunrise at the beach Sunday
Never caught a Manta Ray before. This guy pulled me up and down the beach, we released him unharmed.
Bull shark we released. Recreational shark season protects all sharks and they have to be released unharmed in April, May and June every year. Recreational people season is open all year for them though. : )
This guy ran east and west and was a nice half hour ride.

We were disappointed because of the great fishing weather (winds) forecast when we found high winds and rough muddy water. So we went and threw the castnet and got some mullet to cut up for bait and put out the big rods.
Nice new $39.00 reel we tried out. Shakespear 7000S Platinum. It has a larger spool for surf casting that means longer cast, and a much faster retrieve speed after launching your bait over 100 yards. Drag worked OK too on big running fish. You can usually find them in Wal Marts near coastal areas.
