Trout, Shrimp, Croakers and a Wrench!
We fished our regular spot on the beach in Grand Isle this morning, Saturday. High tide was at dawn and the tide range was only 2 tenths of a foot so we did not expect much action. Fishing was slow all morning, but after 10 am the water started to fall slowly and the wind picked up so things changed quickly. We got a few fish, and decided to head in to take a break. As we were wading through the shallow first trough (knee deep) heading back up the beach I saw it instantly, the telltale little splash, shrimp hitting the surface as we walked right through them! All you see is a little splash at the surface, but at that instant you can see two big black feelers on the surface going back toward the bottom!!! I went straight to the truck for the cast net, that ended the fishing and we had the best day ever catching absolutely beautiful, all colors of the rainbow Jumbo Shrimp!!
GPS Waypoints:

089 degrees - 59 minutes - 15 seconds West Longitude

These are the biggest Speckled Trout, White Trout and a nice Croaker we got, we got a total of 32 keeper fish, 31 are Trout!

A couple of the monster shrimp we caught, so big they run 9 to the dozen, folks on the beach were in shock, several left hurriedly to go buy cast nets and came back and caught a few!

This was totally unbelievable, a slow day instantly became a feast, we really had a blast!

My first catch of the day! My lure snagged this line and I thought I had a lost crab net, when I finally got it in I got a still useable "Master Mechanic" 9/16" combination wrench!
