Free Public Fishing Pier in Grand Isle, La.

Next to the modern access bridge to Grand Isle, La., is the old wooden vehicle bridge that extends about halfway out into Caminada Pass from the west end approaching the island shown above. It has recently been refurbished and is an excellent, lighted fishing pier! It extends out into the bay and is accessible from both shores, the old center section was removed as a channel for navigation through Caminada Pass to Caminada Bay.

The pier has two access ends, the east side of Caminada Pass, and this image of the west end access. The pier is beautiful, has lights, trash barrels, and is handicapped assessible. Jefferson Parish and Grand Isle welcomes locals and visitors alike with some great, well maintained resources. A tractor grooms the beaches daily, and trash barrels are provided by all the public access wooden gazebos and piers along the length of the island.

This beautiful fountain has some deep, royal blue water, but no fishing in the fountain!
