Six Flags Amusement Park
New Orleans, La.
Six Flags is Louisiana's new family theme park, it has 140 acres of entertainment, food and fun. Several coasters, and a big wooden roller coaster, call the Mega Zeph, a Ferris wheel, a log plume ride, water sports and many other amusement park rides. It is open from 10am till 10pm thru September. It is located at I-10 and I-510 just south of Lake Pontchartrain in eastern New Orleans. Six Flags is divided into 6 major themed areas. |

|
One of the themed areas, modeled after the now gone original New Orleans amusement park called Pontchartrain Beach is fashioned after the old local park that was very popular in the area for years, at the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain. That old property is now part of the University of New Orleans Lakefront campus. |
The kids had a blast on this small modern roller coaster and rode it over and over. |

You get a great, relaxing view of the park and its many rides from this Ferris Wheel that is visable from nearby Interstate 10, along with the hugh wooden roller coaster the Mega Zeph, named after the original wood coaster we grew up on called the Zephyr at the amusement park owned by the Batt family that was located at Elysian Fields Ave, and Lakeshore Drive in New Orleans. |
