Sportsmans Paradise Surf Fishing!
Louisiana Surf Fishing Saturday
Fishing conditions saturday were rough from the LA beach, big left hand waves curled at the second bar all day and spread the muddy surf zone out far past the third sand bar. The wind was rapidly moving the water east and we constantly had lines hung up with debris. Tide range was less than a half foot. It was a beautiful weather day, and the unchanging cool temperatures let us feed the gnats for hours, (don't know if they were gnats or midges). Water temperature is still in the upper 60 degree range.
We caught one small redfish (rat red) and released one Big Bull Red, the fish are fun and harder to land with a strong current sweeping the beach, they stay broadside to the beach facing the flow and you have to move upcurrent down the beach to get line back in.
